Pelikan Souverän R800 Black/Green Rollerball Pen
Description
In 1929, Pelikan was the first company in the world to introduce an efficient piston filling mechanism. Its operation is based on the fact that the spiral inside the blade spins faster than the tip of the body, using two threads. To this day, this pen has many variants, and although it has been developed technically and in appearance, the basic mechanism remains the same. In 1950, the model 400 was introduced. The green striped wrapper became the world famous Parker trademark. In the 1980s, the series was given the name Souverän, but the populanie used to be called Stresemann because the then Secretary of State of the Weimar Republic was known for his penchant for striped suits. The production of the wrapper requires a lot of work. According to the traditional Pelican method, raw cotton is processed many times until a striped piece of fabric is obtained. It is then formed into a final shape, cut and diamond blasted. Then, the characteristic double rings at the end of the body and on the ferrule are integrated into the material. This is done with the utmost precision in order to obtain the effect of an imperceptible transition between the materials.
