Description
Montblanc Patron of Art 2017 is dedicated to Scipione Borghese (1577.-1633) Borghese, an Italian cardinal considered one of the greatest and most influential patrons and collectors of Roman Baroque art.
The overall design and shape of Montblanc Scipione Borghese 888 Limited Edition is inspired by the interiors of the historic marble sculptures at Villa Borghese.
The 888 edition is a unique blend of interior decoration and Roman Baroque style. The antique dark green marble signifies the Ottoman Baroque style that dominates the Villa Borghese decor. The ring pattern at the top of the cap is also inspired by the marble pillar standing inside the Villa Borghese, while the top of the cap shape is inspired by the cardinal's hat.
The 18 kt gold nib is enhanced with a delicate engraving inspired by the Cardinal's mantle and weapon.
