Many details are inspired by the novel by Victor Hugo and Notre-Dame de Paris. Gothic arches adorn the cap and barrel, and the rosette on the cap resembles the rosette window of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. The tip of the clip, which is shaped like a bell, resembles the Quasimodo bell and the bells of the Paris Cathedral. The engraved shamrock frieze that adorns the top of the cap of this limited edition in 1831 is also borrowed from Notre-Dame architecture. The shape of the cone with a chain at the end refers to the pillars to which Quasimodo was chained. The yellow varnish on the bottom of the cone resembles the yellow ID card you received. The cap is engraved with the words "Chaque homme dans sa nuit s'en va vers sa lumière" (each person goes to the light at night) as a symbol of the concept of redemption.
A limited number of fountain pens referring to the year in which Victor Hugo's novel "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" (1831) was published.
